Shane is a Practice Director of Praetorian’s Professional Services division, specializing in Product Security Praetorian. He is primarily responsible for providing leadership and subject matter expertise on product security. Shane’s experience ranges from attack simulation and penetration testing to secure design and threat modeling, assessing customer’s organizational resilience to cyber threats and tailored recommendations to enhance their resilience and security posture.

Prior to joining Praetorian in 2021, Shane was the Global Practice Lead for Application Security at the British Standards Institute’s (BSI) Cyber Security and Information Resilience (CSIR) division, specializing in product security and assurance, thought leadership, technical execution, and methodology development.

Beginning his career as a Penetration Tester, Shane has 10+ year’s experience in hands-on technical execution and advising partners on cybersecurity strategy across a variety of verticals and regulatory landscapes.  

Shane has led the management and execution of hundreds of highly complex and sensitive cybersecurity engagements for Enterprise and Fortune 500 clients, ensuring the highest standards of security and compliance. He has played a pivotal role in supporting customers to consistently meet rigorous cybersecurity requirements and achieve successful filings for Class II/III medical devices, and assisting clients in staying ahead of, navigating and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory landscapes.  

In addition to hands-on technical work with customers, Shane has guided organizations globally in the design and implementation of cybersecurity strategy and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST, to assist customers align with industry best practices and standards.
